Continuing a Christmas Eve Tradition for well over 20 years, we were off to

Jay & Val's House

to celebrate Christmas with Kathy's side of the family.

This Christmas Eve was unusually mild with the Temperature in the mid 40's and clear. We drove out to Jay & Val's home in Hawthorn Woods for 3pm in the afternoon.

In attendance was Jay, Val, newly engaged son Jayson and their daughter Jameson with hubby Lane & beautiful daughters Scarlett and Ainsley in tow.

Val's parents Shirley & Walt were there, too. Kathys other brother Gary, wife Jan, and their children Kelsey & Corey were there as well. As for our family, we had all except Brett, who was working on Christmas Eve. We missed him.

On the menu was the traditional Buffet, anchored with the Christmas Ham, and co-starring Meatballs, Potato Sausage, some type of Smelly Fish harkening back to the Rodley Nordic Heritage, Jan's spectacular Deviled Eggs, Kathy's Cheezy Potatoes, salads and a dessert table that would bury a careless diabetic.

It was great to get caught up on all the goings on as we don't get together enough as a family.

Thor, Scarlett & Ainsley were as cute as could be as they got to know each other at ground level.

We quizzed Jayson on how the engagement went down and heartily congratulated him on this big step. His Fiance Meghan could not attend as she was in Michigan with her Parents, but in the few times we have met her, we know her and Jayson will make a fabulous pair.

Picture upper left is Kathy with her brothers, middle right is babe Niece Jameson with her Lane and their cherubs. Middle left is the Jay & Val Batz family including Val's mom and her dad holding a picture of Val's brother Jeff Weeden, who was sainted this year and now dwelling with our God in heaven. We miss him, but are happy he is in paradise.

Picture to the lower right is the Gary & Jan Batz family, looking as great as ever.... Finally to the lower left is the Princess & I, with Kathy looking particularly lovely. Below that is the Boys with their Babes.

Thanks to Jay And Val for yet another beautiful Christmas Eve.

Our Family Has Been So Blessed.

Merry Christmas
