On a wintery December 14th, the Johnson side of the family met at The Lodge for our annual
Hosted by the Princess Kathy herself, she was ably assisted by sisters Laurie and Nancy - for it was a shindig for the ages. This year it was held at the Lodge, in Antioch, home of the General Charley Pub.
Sadly, Mother Thrun was unable to attend and sister Jean & family could not make it - as they were on baby delivery watch awaiting son John and Brittney's second girl! They were missed! Even Steve!
From our family, Bryan & Sabrina and their 2 lads came crosstown to attend. Ben, Jordan, Calvin and Baby Addie were there. Brett and Brad and his wife Tina were there. Both of Laurie's kids, Jeff and Goddaughter Ally reported for duty.
And of course, kid sister Nancy & Randy with all theirs were produced, including newly married Jaclyn and Tommy, with Godsons Ryan and Tyler rounding out the Field. 'Twas a full, raucous group!
Of course the star of the Party was newborn Addison, dressed in a number of Christmas outfits on the day - each cuter than the former. Everyone wanted a turn holding the little cherub, and she was passed around more than a Blunt at a Stones concert.
As per usual, Kathy served an abundance of goodies. First oddles of tasty appetizers, with my favourite being Bryan's Weenie Wrapped in Bacon. Dinner featured Mostacioli, Kathy's Cheesy potatoes, Nancy's delicious Spinach Salad and some tasty Meatballs.
Dessert was out of site with Chief producing the Best Chocolate cake I can remember having - where you been keeping that recipe the last 50 years - Damnitt?!?
Then it was on to the Gift Opening and you can imagine what an explosion that was. Make sure to check out all the Video's, especially of the Grandkids opening Grandma Thrun's gifts. Apparently, BearMeat Bryan confused his Gift intended for Ryan and Nancy had to sort it out before a wrestling match broke out.
Brad's contribution to the discussion was laughter and ridicule as he was throwing Gas on the situation. Well Done Bradley!
