Still looking as spry as the youngster he is, we gathered on Siesta Key to mark Rogue Bro-In-Law

Steve Gallo's 80th Birthday!

That's right, the family irritant turned 80 this past November 9, and his long suffering wife Jean, my sister, pulled out all the stops in a Birthday celebration weekend.

First The Family Celebrants.   All of Steve's children were there - Phoenix Lou, John and Godson (Scott).  John's wife Brittney and their little cherub Brynney B were there - inbound from Colorado.  Godson and lovely Nina were in from Sin City.  Steve's brother Tom was there with his daughter.

On Jean's Johnson side, all of her sisters - Laurie, Nancy & Princess Kathy - reported as ordered.  Nancy's husband Randy was there and of course the entire event was overseen by Family Matriarch and my Mother, Mary Ann.

Phew what a group! Could all of these people actually want to party with Steve?  Unlikely- But they did!

On the Friday before the Birthday, we gathered at Capt Curt's Fish, Clam, Oyster & Crab Emporium right on the Key for a delicious dinner - where we all hugged and greeted each other.

Brittney showed she was a real trooper as she is 8 months pregnant and missed not a beat of the weekend's festivities. As WEAK as Steve is, that's how STRONG Brittney is. She looked lovely.

And then, who should ride in on her little scooter but that rascal Brynney B - stealing the hearts of all in the Fragrant FishHouse.

The Surprise Party was the next day - held at 5:45 PM in the Harbor Towers Social Room.   Over 40 people were there, populated by Family, The Church People, Neighbors & The Horse People.  Hard to believe you could round up that many people to attend a Party Honouring Steve.

Guess it shows how many people love Jean.

The Sisters laid on a spread of appetizers and then Jean brought in the Caterers from Olive Garden and setup a spread  that rivaled anything you would get at the Portofino Seafront!   Yummy.

Throughout the evening we had a couple surprises.  First, John Gallo had produced a video for his Pa that had more than a few people tearing up and then we played Single & Double Jeopardy - Steve Gallo Style, following that.   After the festivities, a lovely cake was brought in and we sung Happy Birthday to the 80 year old youngster.  He dispatched the candles taking only 3 attempts.

The next day was Sunday and all went to Mom's church for worship.   Unbelievably, the Church did not fall down to rubble when sister Laurie strode through the doorway.  Oh, the Power of The Holy Spirit!  This was on Veteran's Day and they played a lot of Music that my Dad would play at our own church when we were young.  Taps and Onward Christian Soldiers. Tears flowed with that too.

Plans were for people to be flying home over the next couple days. But what a weekend it was!   Checkout all the pictures, video and even test your own knowledge of Steve by playing "Steve Gallo 80th Birthday Jeopardy".

Thanks to all for putting on these events

God Bless You Steve on This milestone!

you are loved by all - especially by Me!
