In an afternoon ceremony on June 3rd,  Benjamin Russell Johnson

Graduated

from Buffalo Grove High School!

As Kathy, I, and neighbor Mrs. Lee looked on proudly, our Benjamin concluded his High School career in a graduation ceremony attended by over 500 of his fellow classmates.  We were so proud of Ben as he sought us out in the crowd to give us a wink and a thumbs-up before he went on the stage to get his diploma. 

In the picture left, he is coming down off the stage having just got his diploma, while picture lower right is of all of the Johnson boys crowding round Ben on his big day. All the way down is a great snap of Ben & Kathy after the ceremony conclusion.  As you can see our little Ben has matured into a handsome young man who is every bit as nice on the inside as he is on the out.

Ben will start his college life at Harper College here in Palatine.  His plans are to do a semester or 2 here close to home, before he heads out to University somewhere in the state of Illinois. Deep down, both Kathy and I were happy that he opted to stay close to home during his 1st year, as we are not that excited about having our Ben move away just now.   Currently he is interested in pursuing a teaching degree, which we think would be just great.  We believe he would make an excellent teacher, as in his part-time job he supervises dis-advantaged children and enjoys it very much.
