Kathy & I were honored to be invited to a Suprise Party to mark
Virginia & Rudy Tarra's 80th Birthdays!
Virg & Rudy thought they were coming to son David and wife Nora's house to watch a BlackHawks Game. They were badly mistaken.
Virg & Rudy have been great friends ever since we met them on the Arlington Park Backstretch in 2005. They have been longterm Owners & Breeders of Thoroughbred Race Horses under the banner of Virginia Tarrra Racing Trust. Rudy bred the multiple Grade 1 winning speedster Giant Oak.
They have always been kind enough to invite Red Rabbit Racing along with their adventures and we will forever be grateful. 
Highlight for me was when Giant Oak ran in the money in the Breeders Cup Marathon and the Tarra's were so gracious to give me and son Brettie Paddock passes at Churchill Downs to enjoy the action.
We also had adjoining boxes at Arlington Park allowing us to see each other frequently over more than a few summers. Over the years I have been lucky to get schooled in the racing business by Rudy. He personally selects what mares they breed to and the list of stallions include the very best in the world, like Giants Causeway, American Pharaoh, Henry The Navigator, etc. These 2 are REAL Horseracing Players. And they couldn't be nicer or more down to earth.

Son David & wife Nora hosted the party at their beautiful home. All the Tarra kids and grandkids were there for the party and they just have a great family. They had any drinks you wanted, a great meal, tremendous desserts and even some background music from a guitarist. Kathy more than a few times pointed out how they hold parties much better than we do.
We are grateful to have Rudy Virginia and their entire family as our frends.
