'Twas a Blessed and Lovely

Christmas Eve!

On this lovely Sunday we started the day off properly with Sunday Worship at Trinity.  After the service, we hotfooted it back home with Bryan & Sabrina and those rascally grandsons Thor & Ashton - eagerly awaiting the Present Blizzard that only a Grandmother can provide.

We then topped the day off at Kathy's brother Jay & Val's home for the traditional Batz Christmas celebration -  that we have done for nigh unto 30 years now.

At Church, Thor was the acolyte and in charge of lighting each of the Advent Candles throughout the service. Did an absolutely stellar job.  Calvin, participated with the children building the Manger Scene. He did an excellent job too, and also loved the music saying "Yaaay!" after every song.

Pretty soon the congregation was saying "Yaaay!" after every song too.    Ashton, sat with Mom as he was not feeling well.

The service was extra special with the boys and their families there.  Very reverent.

Following worship, Bryan, Sabrina and their boys came over to our house and opened their presents.  Check out the video.  Kathy did a great job giving our grandsons presents that not only were fun - but educational too - especially with Thor and that great big, square brain of his.

After they left, Brett, Kathy & I went over to Jay & Val's and met up with their children and Val's parents.  Kathy's brother Gary and wife Jan were there with Corey and his Babe Girlfriend Belle.  Sadly Kelsey couldn't make it in - but as I had promised her - took plenty of pictures of her family to view.

As I said earlier we have been following this tradition of going to Jay & Val's on Christmas Eve for at least 30 years. Over that time we have raised our kids and now see those same kids raise their own families.   What a blessing we have with Family.

We were back home by 9pm - tired, but Happy & So Thankful!
